EDWARDS — This time of year is usually when parents search for good ideas for summer camps and activities for their kids.

Look no further than the Eagle River Youth Coalition’s Family Jam and Summer Plan, taking place on Saturday, May 7, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Brush Creek Pavilion in Eagle. Slifer Smith & Frampton and US Bank are the event sponsors.

Youth activity organizers will be organized by booth and ready to register kids for their summer offerings. In addition, the event provides live musical entertainment by local youth, a bouncy house, instrument petting zoo, free ice cream from Marble Slab Creamery and many fun activities. In addition, the Girl Scouts and Buddy Mentors will lead a special Mother’s Day craft and Colorado Skateboards will set up a mini skate park for kids to try out; remember to bring your helmet.



“This is the fourth year we have organized this free, family event,” said Mikayla Curtis, manager of strategic impact at the Eagle River Youth Coalition. “We are always looking for ways to engage with families and youth in our community, and Family Jam and Summer Plan is one of the highlights of our year. Come to learn about programs and services, and get signed up on the spot to have a summer full of activities.”

Participating organizations include YouthPower365, Colorado Skateboards, Walking Mountains Science Center, Bear Cat Stables, H&M Spanish Camp, Roundup River Ranch, Camp Deep End, Bravo! Vail, Colorado State University Extension, Camp 911, Vail Valley Medical Center/Think First, Western Eagle County Metropolitan Recreation District, Bright Future Foundation, Crea Results, Eagle Valley Library District, Girl Scouts, Literacy Project, Mountain Valley Horse Rescue, Trinity Church Summer Camps, Trio Therapy Partners, Camp Smashbox, Eagle Lake on Location, InteGreat! and more.
