Eagle shares $4.9M for energy projects with 2 other counties
DENVER – Three western Colorado counties have received a $4.9 million federal grant to make businesses and homes more energy efficient.
Gov. Bill Ritter said Friday that the grant will go to Eagle, Pitkin and Gunnison counties. The Western Slope project was one of 20 community initiatives nationwide receiving the federal stimulus funds from the Department of Energy.
The three counties will use the money to make buildings more energy efficient through a program approved by area voters in 2009.
