Eagle: Talk about pine beetles

EAGLE, Colorado ” Pine beetles and wildfires will be the subjects of a town hall meeting held by state Rep. Christine Scanlan at the Eagle County Building Thursday.
Scanlan is running for re-election against Beaver Creek Republican Ali Hasan to represent Eagle County in the state House of Representatives. She will be joined by Eric Lovgren, Eagle County’s wildfire mitigation manager; Tom Talbot, the Vail Fire Department’s wildland specialist; Vail Fire Chief Mark Miller; and Cal Wettstein, acting deputy supervisor of the White River National Forest.
Topics of the meeting, scheduled from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., include the bark beetle epidemic, wildfire risk, and the health of our forests. The meeting is in the Eagle Commissioners Chambers in the County Building, 500 Broadway St., Eagle, CO 81631.
