Battalion Chief Eagle River Fire Protection

15 years

Seeking re-election to a position held for the past 6 years, helping Eagle complete present objectives and working on new ones. In the past I have been actively involved in many projects in the town, but these are a few that stand out for me: Broadway economic incentives, town park improvements, Broadway streetscape, recycling program and major infrastructure improvement. I want to continue to help make Eagle a fantastic place to live.

We need to start on this today and continue to work on it into the future, looking for and recruiting businesses that are willing to move into the town of Eagle. This in my mind would be to start with a community effort asking people of the town to be involved with an “Economic Council” similar to the focus groups, that we used in getting the town park and Broadway streetscape completed. Working as a team will help us to find a great tax based support.

In my six years on the council I have seen two proposals come before us on that property. One I did vote against and another that I voted for, both projects had pros and cons. With the ERS project I was looking at the infrastructure and the need for improvements to our water system and making Chambers a viable business district. Town’s current infrastructure is insufficient to support meaningful re-development on Chambers and other areas of Town. If we want to see Chambers re-develop on the lots that are presently there, significant infrastructure improvements will have to be done.

Infill in the Town of Eagle is an important element of our future, but yes it will be expensive. I do support good positive infill, that being something that will create a tax base. We have seen projects being talked about and some of those I feel would be a great fit and increase the tax base.

I have a proven history of being a problem solver, helping people, and in working at both local and county levels. I want my experience and energy to enhance the great lifestyle we all enjoy in Eagle. For me, listening is a trait that I take very seriously, I am known as someone that speaks very little, but fact finder then the decision maker. If re-elected I will continue to listen to the concerns of the citizens and turn those concerns into a positive benefit for the Town of Eagle.
