Eagle-Vail pool opens Saturday

EAGLE-VAIL — The community of Eagle-Vail will open its swimming pool to the public Saturday and Sunday from noon to 8 p.m. The Eagle-Vail pool will then close for the week and open May 22 from 4–8 p.m., and open for the summer season daily 10 a.m.-8 p.m. starting May 23.

“We are so excited to get the pool up and running,” said Eagle-Vail Community Manager Jeff Layman. “Our talented staff returning includes Diving Dolphins Swim Team coach Claire Alteneau, and joining us this year is Becky Matson as assistant coach.”

Eagle-Vail will celebrate the grand opening on May 24 from 2–4 p.m. with ice cream and 50 percent off the daily rates.



Daily use rates at the Eagle-Vail Pool are $9 for Eagle-Vail resident adults, $12 for non-resident adults, and $7 for Eagle-Vail resident children ages 4-17 and senior citizens, or $10 for non-resident children ages 4-17 and senior citizens.

Season swim passes will be available for purchase and vary based on residency between $199-$249 for individuals, $299-$399 for couples, $375-$475 for families, and $170-$220 for seniors. Ten-punch passes are available for $75 for Eagle-Vail residents, and $95 for non-residents.



DIVING DOLPHINS SWIM TEAM

The Diving Dolphins Swim Team is open for registration for children ages 6 through high school and the cost per child for the summer is $170 per child for Eagle-Vail residents and $180 per child for non-residents. Swim Team practice is scheduled June 8-July 31, Monday through Thursday at 7:45–8:45 a.m., with swim team prep practice from 9-10 a.m.

A 25 percent discount on the swim team rate is available when combined with the purchase of any season pass (limited to two children per family). If children are interested in competing, three meets will be held this summer on June 26, July 17 and July 31, each requiring a small swim meet fee.

The Diving Dolphins Swim Team will hold its registration party on May 29 from 4:30–6 p.m. Registration forms can also be found at http://www.eaglevail.org or call 970-790-1218 for more information.

SWIM PROGRAMS

Special programs include master’s swimming, group and private lessons, water aerobic classes, yoga, twilight swim, adult lap swim and stroke correction clinics. Children’s group and private swim lessons are divided up by age with Starfish (ages 0-2), Seahorses (ages 2-3), Nemos (ages 4-5), and Flying Fish (ages 6-7).

The Eagle-Vail Pool will bring back family events such as Moonlight Swims and Family Swim nights. Moonlight Swim nights will be held June 13, July 12, and August 10. Family Swim nights are held every Sunday night from 5–8 p.m. at a cost of only $5 per person.

The Boat Building Contest, usually held Father’s Day weekend, will return with participants creating boats out of non-boat materials. The winning boat is the one that floats.

New to the events schedule this year are open kayak nights, taking place Mondays June 10 through September 1 from 7–8 p.m. at a cost of $10 per boat.

Open May through September from 10 a.m.–8 p.m., the Eagle-Vail Pool has a 25 meter lap pool heated to 85 degrees, and a beach entry kid pool heated to 90 degrees. The pool utilizes cutting edge salt water, ozone, and solar systems for heating and sanitizing the water while maintaining soft and gentle water.
