Eagle-Vail to begin building pool
EAGLE-VAIL -The public is invited to attend a ceremonial groundbreaking for the new Eagle-Vail Community Pool on at 3:30 p.m. Thursday. The new, $2.5 million pool will replace Eagle-Vail’s current pool, which community leaders say is undersized for residents and other users, and has numerous structural and equipment problems. Construction is scheduled to continue throughout the summer and should be mostly finished by the end of 2010.The pool, which will only be open in the summer, will have an approximately 3,000-square-foot bath house and two outdoor pools, including a six-lane, 25-meter lap pool and a 40-foot by 18-foot leisure pool. The pool will have a solar hot water collection system. Standard flat-plate solar collectors will operate year round and supplemental pool heaters will directly cycle pool water during the summer months when the pool is in operation and greater water temperatures are required for comfortable use. The groundbreaking will take place at the site of the new pool, located across the street from the current pool. The ceremony is being hosted by the Eagle-Vail Metropolitan District, the Eagle-Vail Property Owners Association and the project’s general contractor, RA Nelson & Associates.
