Eagle Valley high hosts public tour
Gypsum, CO Colorado
GYPSUM – Members of the public can tour the freshly-remodeled Eagle Valley High School tonight.
Principal Mark Strakbein expects at least a few hundred people to attend a ribbon cutting ceremony and tour of the school.
The school recently underwent a $25 million renovation, chief financial officer Phil Onofrio said.
Parents will also receive copies of their children’s schedules, so they can visit classrooms and meet teachers, Strakbein said.
The sweeping renovation includes improvements both inside and outside the school. At the stadium, workers added a turf field, expanded the track from six to eight lanes and increased the capacity of the bleachers, Strakbein said.
Inside the school, the public can check out a host of new additions, including a gym, technology wing, two science classrooms and a music room. Renovations also expanded the art rooms, auto shop and wood shop. The auditorium now doubles as a college-style lecture hall with a new projector, seats, sound system, lights and flip-top desks, Strakbein said.
