Eagle Valley Library District appoints Linda Tillson as new director
EAGLE — The Eagle Valley Library District’s board of trustees has announced the appointment of Linda Tillson as the new director of the Eagle Valley Library District. Tillson replaces Charlyn Canada, who retired on May 31.
“The district is thrilled to welcome Linda as our new director,” said Michael Brown, president of the library board of trustees. “She has experience not only with library management, but also with a resort mountain community.”
Tillson comes to the district from the Park City Public Library in Park City, Utah, where she has served as the director since 2001. Throughout her 12 years at Park City, Tillson was known for bringing the library in concurrence with the concept of the 21st century library. During her tenure, Tillson updated the online catalog software and library website, completed a renovation and expansion and revamped the Internet terminals for public use.
“I am very impressed with the Eagle Valley Library District,” Tillson said. “The staff, board and facilities are excellent. I am very excited to begin working and living in the area.”
Tillson is not new to Colorado. She received her undergraduate degree at Western State University, and her family pioneered a ranch in Westcliffe. She earned a master’s in library science at the University of Arizona in Tucson.
