Eagle Valley principal holds open house

Cindy Ramunno

If you have some concerns or suggestions for Eagle Valley High School, today is the day to voice them. Principal Mark Strakbein will be available all day to meet with parents and community members in an effort to hear how programs and other issues can improve at the school.Strakbein is conducting an “Open Door Day” and he will be available from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. today for anyone and everyone to come in to chat – and no appointment is necessary.Superintendent John Brendza has conducted these types of sessions in the past – as a principal and a superintendent – and he says the experience is invaluable. “Open Door day gives parents the opportunity to meet the principal and discuss concerns from a philosophical or practical standpoint,” Brendza says. “It gives people a chance to sit in an informal setting to discuss what the mission and values are in terms of student learning.”Strakbein will be available today at the high school in Gypsum. Go to the main office and you’ll be directed into his office. For more information, call 328-8960.
