Special to the Enterprise |

Start Sunday mornings with a little fresh air at Yoga in the Park, hosted by Yoga off Broadway, at Eagle Town Park from 9:30 to10:45 a.m. every Sunday morning.

With different instructors every week, Yoga in the Park is open to all levels and is free, however donations are appreciated.

Every summer, Yoga off Broadway chooses a charity or organization to award the collected donations, and this year all proceeds from Yoga in the Park will go to The Cycle Effect.

The Cycle Effect provides bikes to high school aged girls who might not normally have access to one, and then through an organized mountain biking program, helps these girls discover who they are and the potential their future holds.

The program began in Edwards and started with 18 girls, most of whom competed regularly. Now, The Cycle Effect is providing programming to more than 40 girls in Eagle, Edwards and Summit County, and estimates that more than 100 girls will participate by 2015. All athletes are required to compete at some level.

“Competition is what teaches you about yourself. It’s not a bike club,” founder Brett Donelson said. “Mountain biking is a technical sport, where you are constantly second guessing yourself and reaffirming yourself, and learning to believe in yourself.”

On the first Sunday of every month, The Cycle Effect will host a mountain bike ride at the conclusion Yoga in the Park and is open to all abilities.
