Big thanks from the Eagle Lions

The Eagle Lions club offers a big thank you to the Eagle community, friends and neighbors who enjoyed a fun night at the Lions Spaghetti Dinner and Silent Auction, March 27.

Because of your gracious and spirited giving, we are happy to report that we met and exceeded our goal of $8,000 for this event. The generosity of local businesses who donated items and the community support that enables them to give, allows the Lions to continue to serve the people of our community. We are humbled by your generosity and are energized to continue to serve our community. The atmosphere this year was very wonderful to observe; it was such a joy to see the Boy Scouts, leaders and parents participating and the enjoyment of the community knowing that this event will service our community, fulfilling our goal to provide eye care with the KidSight Program which photographs the eyes of all preschoolers in Eagle Valley Schools and provides glasses for those who cannot afford to buy them.

The Lions want to thank Eagle Boy Scouts Troop 222 including Quin McCarroll, Hunter Kohrmann, Reese Kohrmann, Kelby Denissen, Will Bashford, Connor Jenkins, Parker Labine, John Papadopoulos, Jacob Papadopoulos, Blake Blizzard, Mason Yurcak and Scout leaders and parents including Wayne Nelson, Monica McCarroll, Mindy Denissen, Tom Bashford, Sheri Howell, Mike Jenkins, Rebecca Papadopolis, Todd Labine, Amy Yurcak and Larry Ferguson. Eagle Lions are sponsors for the Eagle Boy Scout Troop 222 and appreciate their service to this community and their volunteer assistance with this annual event that benefits this community.

Special friends of the Eagle Lions also graciously gave of their time including Basalt Lions Joe Chacon, Stan Booth and Bill Gibson; Early Childhood Health Manager Elizabeth Reilly, Lion spouse Sharyn Smith, and community members Susan Shreeve and Michelle and James Quenon. These volunteers all came to donate their time to help make this event a success.

The Lions also appreciate the assistance of the Brush Creek Elementary secretary Kristina Turner for her help with the P.A. system and tables, and the BCES cafeteria manager Joyce Messier.

This is an annual event which you won’t want to miss in the future, the food was superb, the silent auction had great deals, and the atmosphere of the event was just outstanding. It was a great community party with a purpose.

If you have any questions in regard to the Eagle Lions Club and/or this event, please contact Judy Clock, Eagle Lions President, 970-328-7225. If you need to pick up your items, give Judy a call. Thank you so much for your continuing support.
