County seeks community members to serve on boards

Enterprise staff report

Eagle County has openings on several community boards, including the Eagle County Planning Commission, Roaring Fork Valley Regional Planning Commission, Zoning Board of Adjustment, ECO Eagle Valley Trails Committee and Eagle County Fair & Rodeo Advisory Council.

To qualify, applicants must be Eagle County residents and registered voters. A brief description and the application process for each of the boards follows:

Eagle County Planning Commission

The Eagle County Planning Commission makes recommendations to the Eagle County Board of County Commissioners regarding land use within the Eagle Valley area of unincorporated Eagle County. The planning commission meets on the first and third Wednesday of every month. Applications are available online at http://www.eaglecounty.us/planning. Applications are due no later than April 4 and can be submitted via email to andrea.weber@eaglecounty.us. Roaring Fork Valley Regional Planning Commission

The Roaring Fork Valley Regional Planning Commission makes recommendations to the Eagle County Board of County Commissioners regarding land use within the Roaring Fork Valley, Missouri Heights and Frying Pan Road areas of unincorporated Eagle County. The commission meets on the first and third Thursday of every month. Applications are available online at http://www.eaglecounty.us/planning. Zoning Board of Adjustment

The Zoning Board of Adjustment meets as needed to review applications for zoning variances. Applications are available online at http://www.eaglecounty.us/planning. Applications are due no later than April 4 and can be submitted via email to andrea.weber@eaglecounty.us. ECO Eagle Valley Trails Committee

The ECO Eagle Valley Trails Committee has one vacancy for an alternate member. Applicants must reside in commissioner District 3, which includes Gypsum, Dotsero and the Colorado River Road to McCoy. The 18-member committee generally meets five to six times per year to plan trail projects for construction using funds from the one-half percent transportation sales tax. Members are expected to participate in an area of emphasis such as trail planning, special events, fundraising, shared roads or backcountry trails. Eagle County Fair & Rodeo Advisory Council

The Eagle County Fair & Rodeo Advisory Council has one opening for a resident who wishes to serve the community by assisting with the annual Eagle County Fair & Rodeo. Council appointments are for four year terms. Applications are available online at http://www.eaglecounty.us/fairrodeo under “General Information.” To apply, submit the completed application via mail to P.O.
