Eagle Valley High School has the following sports competitions and events coming up this week. Come out and support the home team – the Eagle Valley Devils.
The high school is located at 641 Valley Road in Gypsum.
Thursday, Feb. 5
All-State choir takes place through Saturday in Denver.
The varsity wrestling team competes in Rifle beginning at 5 p.m.
Friday, Feb. 6
The Alpine ski team travels to Aspen for an all-day competition.
The hockey team hosts Standley Lake at the Eagle Ice Rink beginning at 1:30 p.m.
The boys and girls junior varsity and varsity basketball teams travel to Glenwood for all-day action.
The Western Slope Honor Jazz Band and Choir competes through Saturday.
Saturday, Feb. 7
The EVHS Foundation’s annual Fire and Ice Extravaganza takes place at the Eagle River Centerbeginning at 6 p.m. For tickets, call 970-376-4080.
The Nordic team travels to Summit for a competition beginning at 11 a.m.
The hockey team travels to Kent Denver for a 2 p.m. game.
Monday, Feb. 9
Boys and girls C-team basketball travels to Rifle for games beginning at 5 p.m.
The spring parent/athlete meeting is at the EVHS auditorium beginning at 6 p.m.
Tuesday, Feb. 10
The junior varsity and varsity boys and girls basketball teams hosts Rifle for games beginning at 4 p.m.
Wednesday, Feb. 11
A parent Project Graduation meeting will take place in the EVHS cafeteria beginning at 7 p.m.

Greg Sparhawk, along with partner Jim Comerford, have proposed a large development of fairly small homes for the north side of Minturn, near the town’s railroad yards. The partners are under contract with Union Pacific Railroad for the property, which is across Minturn Road — also known as County Road.
