Kids two to twelve years old, along with their wintertime housebound parents, are guaranteed a great time at the Winter Free Family Fun Fair Saturday, Feb. 21 in Eagle.

“Parents love this annual event because their young ones can let off steam for five whole hours in a huge arena filled with free activities just for them,” said event organizer Janet Thrasher of Always Mountain Time.

Presented and hosted by the Western Eagle County Metropolitan Recreation District, the town of Gypsum, the town of Eagle and Always Mountain Time Radio Network, the Free Family Fun Fair takes place indoors from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Eagle River Center at the Eagle County Fairgrounds.

Free activities will include: one 4-person bungee jump, two zorb balls, three bounce houses, a giant inflatable slide and an inflatable obstacle course. Also on tap: a visit from a space man, face painting, balloon sculptures, a fire truck and ambulance, and performances and demonstrations.

Vail Valley Medical Center will be on hand to give away free children’s bicycle helmets, after first making sure they are fitted properly.

Drop off new or gently used stuffed animals with local high school students Camryn and Morgan, co-founders of non-profit Hugs for Hope. First Responders provide the stuffed animals to children who are facing crisis situations.

“Attendees should bring some spending money, too. Educational, old-fashioned toys from Learning Works will be for sale, in addition to food and beverages, treats and Girl Scout cookies,” said Thrasher

The Free Family Fun Fair in Eagle is sponsored by community partners CenturyLink, Mountain Family Health Centers, Taco Bell and KSKE ‘Ski Country’, KKCH ‘The LIFT FM’ and KQSE ‘La Nueva Mix.’
