Each year 100 or more racers participate and the proceeds are divided between Colorado Animal Rescue, Rifle Dog Pound, Animal Rescue Foundation, and Mid-Valley Animal Rescue.
Registration for the race can be done locally before race day at Summit Canyon Mountaineering (8th and Grand in Glenwood Springs) and Independence Run and Hike in Carbondale for a pre-registration fee of $20.
