Gypsum promises summer full of family fun

Familes gather at the Lundgren Theater in Gypsum to enjoy a live music performance prior to a free movie showing during the Music and Movies series. The event is back for 2016.

GYPSUM —Family fun is on tap in Gypsum this summer and most events are free or low cost.

The summer offerings will culminate with a Saturday night performance by country superstar Hunter Hayes during the Gypsum Daze event planned Wednesday, July 13 through Saturday, July 16 . The Voice contestant Danielle Bradbury will be the opening act and tickets are available now on the town’s website — http://www.townofgypsum.com. Presale concert tickets are $15 and but that price will go up to $25 on the day of the show. There are also a limited number of VIP packages that can be purchased on line, for $100.

Movies and Music



Gypsum’s summer begins with the Movies & Music Summer Concert Series every Friday in June. The evenings will start at 7 p.m. with live performances ranging from rock to country to theater. Following each night’s live performance will be a feature film.

The towns of Eagle and Gypsum are combining forces for this year’s 4th of July celebration, which Gypsum is hosting at Town Hall Park.

The celebration will get under way at 7 p.m. with live music from Soul Sacrifice: A Tribute to Santana along with free hot dogs and ice cream.

When the sky gets dark, a fireworks show synchronized to music is planned.
