Tours are expected to fill up quickly. Questions may be directed to ECHS President Kathy Heicher at 328-7104.

Scott Fund-raiser

Join the fun at 4-Eagle Ranch on Saturday, Sept. 6 for a potluck benefit for Keith and Kendra Scott.

The event will get under way at 6 p.m. at the 4-Eagle Ranch with live music, an auction and tack sale. The fund-raiser will benefit the Scott Family, local ranchers who had a devastating cattle loss this past winter. Bring your best dishes to share for a potluck dinner and enjoy music played by the Green Ridge Ramblers out of Yampa.

“We invite everyone to bring your friends and family to 4 Eagle Ranch and show your support to one of the many special families who make up the backbone of our wonderful and caring community,” said organizer Debra Batton.

A suggested donation is $20 and a pot luck dish for adults, $10 for seniors, $10 for children or $35 for families. For anyone who is short on cash but is willing to lend a hand, just show up with a pot luck dish. Adult beverages will be available for purchase.

An account is open at Eagle Alpine Bank for donations for anyone who is unable to make the benefit.

For more information, call Debra at 970-328-6646.

Around Town

We still haven’t heard from the owner of a class ring found at the Brush Creek Park earlier this month. The 2002 man’s ring has the name Roke Valasco engraved on the inside of the band. It is here at the newspaper office, located at 108 West Second Street. Tell us the high school it’s from and the color of the stone, and we will be happy to reunite it with its owner.

The streets of Eagle will be a whole lot quieter today, with elementary kids beginning the 2014-15 school term. Middle school students returned to classrooms Tuesday and Eagle Valley High School students started school Wednesday. Best wishes to all students and staff for the school terms ahead.
