Local health assistance network to host enrollment sessions
Local health coverage guides are hosting health insurance enrollment sessions during the month of January.
Sessions are planned from 1 to 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 11 at Avon Public Library in Avon and from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 13 at the Eagle County Community Center in El Jebel.
Health coverage guides will be available to answer questions, schedule appointments and to assist with online applications.
Eagle County, in partnership with Garfield and Pitkin counties and Mountain Family Health Centers, was one of 58 organizations in Colorado selected to provide in-person assistance to customers of Connect for Health Colorado. The local Health Assistance Network can provide help to anyone looking for health insurance through the online marketplace. All health coverage guides are bilingual in English and Spanish.
Open enrollment through Connect for Health Colorado, the state’s online insurance marketplace, is under way at http://www.connectforhealthco.com. The marketplace offers individuals, families and small businesses a one-stop shop to compare, pick and purchase health insurance plans, as well as access to up-front financial assistance based on income. The full open enrollment period continues until Feb. 15.
Health insurance options vary by county and different factors affect the price of health insurance plans, such as location, age and family size.
