Details: Presented by the town of Eagle and the Vail Valley Foundation, the first ShowDown Town concert for the 2014 season will feature music by Bonfire Dub and free kids activities.

Summer Reading Movie Matinee



What: Free movie showing for kids entering kindergarten through 6th grade.

LG TRI

What: Sprint triathlon and kids tri event in honor of Laura Genelin and benefiting Vail Valley Charitable Fund

When: Saturday, July 12

Time: 7 a.m.

Where: Eagle Pool and Ice Rink

Details: The event features a 500-yard swim at the Eagle pool, a 12-mile bike along Brush Creek Road and 5K run along Eagle Ranch recreation path. Vacation Bible School

What: Eagle Baptist Church host its annual, weeklong program for kids entering kindergarten through sixth grade. New this year is VBS for kids in seventh grade through high school

When: Monday, July 14 through Thursday, July 17

Time: 9 to 11:30 a.m.

Where: Eagle Baptist Church at 14600 U.S. Highway 6.

Details: For kids interested in attending, but who need transporation, contact Ann at 328-6250. Additionally, on Sunday, July 20, Eagle Baptist Church will host a group of missionaries who will shares stories about their work in India. Sunday services are held at 11 a.m.

Colorado OPen Qualifier

What: One of four statewide qualifier golf tournaments for the Colorado Open.

When: Tuesday, July 15

Time: Tee times 8 to 10 a.m.

Where: Eagle Ranch Golf Club

What: Free concert series for young fans

What: Presentation by HawkQuest’s Bird of Prey to conclude the 2014 summer reading program

Details: Sponsored by the Friends of the Eagle Valley Library District. Children will observe four raptors at close range to learn about the importance of different species, their specially-adapted tools and their roles in the ecosystem.
