What: Brown bag lunch and business education series hosted by the Eagle Chamber of Commerce

When: Thursday, Jan. 23

Time: Noon to 1 p.m.

Where: Eagle Town Hall

Details: Participants should bring their own lunches, beverages and a dessert provided. This week’s topic is Peak Personal Performance in 2014.

Healthier Living Colorado: Chronic Disease Self-Management

What: Whatever the diagnosis, this is the class that teaches and supports participants in making better choices and practicing self-management.

When: Fridays through Feb. 14

Time: 1:30 p.m.

Details: These classes are highly participatory, where mutual support and success build the participants’ confidence in their ability to manage their health and maintain an active fulfilling life. This class was developed by Stanford University and will be conducted by local instructors Anne Leavitt and Bruce Carey.

Kids Night Out

What: Evening activities for kids in kindergarten through fifth grade

When: Friday, Jan. 24

Time: 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Where: Edwards Field House

Details: Cost is $20. Kids will enjoy a variety of activities which may include: anti-gravity center, gymnastics, rock climbing, Nintendo Wii, sports and more. Pizza, juice box and supervision are included.

Art in the Afternoon

What: Arts and crafts for elementary age kids

When: Wednesday, Jan. 29

Time: 3:30 p.m.

Where: Eagle Public Library

Valentine’s Day Dinner Theater

What: The Porchlight Players will present “Dirty Rotten Scoundrels”

When: Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 7-9 and 14-16

Time: Doors open at 5:45 p.m.

Dinner service begins at 6 p.m.

Where: Brush Creek Pavilion

Details: Tickets are now on sale now. The $50 per person ticket includes dinner catered by HP Provisions and Catering of Eagle Ranch, dessert tray served at your table, three drinks (beer, wine or soft drinks), complimentary coffee and tea service and the show. Tickets must be purchased by visiting at least 24 hours in advance.

What: Hands on science club for kids in third through fifth grades

Details: Climbing wall, bouncy castles, face painting, mechanical bull, obstacle course, booths and more.

Eagle Town Board Candidate Information Night

What: There will be three seats up for election on the Eagle Town Board this April and this session will provide information for prospective candidates.

TIPS Training

What: Colorado Mountain College has scheduled the TIPS training course, a renowned program for people employed in the alcohol service trade.

When: Tuesday, Feb. 11

Time: 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Where: Colorado Mountain College in Edwards

Eagle Vision 20/20

What: Hosted by the Eagle Chamber and Eagle Mayor Yuri Kostick, program features an update about activities in town.

Details: Guest speaker will be Eagle County Schools Superintendent Dr. Jason Glass. The 2013 Business of the Year and Member of the Year awards will be presented. A social gathering at Grand Ave. Grill will follow the session.

What: Performance by international traveling troupe

Journal to the Self

When: Therapeutic journal writing workshop

Details: The workshop will be presented by local Licensed Professional Counselor Mary Merkling. Merkling is a certified instructor who studied Kathleen Adams, writer of Journal to the Self and founder of The Center for Journal Therapy. Participants are asked to bring a notebook and pen.
