Colorado Riverfest

What: Float and dinner hosted by the Eagle River Watershed Council

When: Saturday, Aug. 17

Time: Float group will meet at Colorado River Ranch at 2:30 p.m. and launch at 3:30 p.m. at Red Dirt Creek. Dinner party will begin at 6 p.m. at Colorado River Ranch.

Eagle Valley Community Fund Rummage Sale

What: Massive rummage sale benefitting local non-profit groups is celebrating its 49th anniversary.

Saturday, Aug. 24, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Details: Admission to the sale is $1. The sale is laid out around the school and features thousands of donated items. Money generated from the sale is awarded to more than 70 local groups. Porchlight Players Auditions

Time: Doors open at 5 p.m. The action begins at 6 p.m.

Where: Eagle Pool and Ice Rink

Details: Tickets are available online at http://www.brownpapertickets.com or from any derby girl. Other outlets include Pazzo’s Pizzeria in Eagle, Avon, and Vail and at the door the day of the event. Pre-sale ticket price is $10, $12 at the door. For derby fans ages 5-16, ticket price is $5. Children under 5 are free. Available concessions include Pazzo’s pizza, draft beer from Bonfire Brewery, and a team-sponsored bake sale.

Summer Reading Ice Cream Party

What: Culminating activity for the Gypsum Public Library’s summer reading program
