Pee Wee hockey tournament comes to Eagle this weekend
Continental Divide Youth Hockey League Championships – Pee Wee division will be decided this weekend at the Eagle Ice Rink.
The action will begin Friday, March 6 and continue through Sunday, March 8. Adding to the excitement, two local teams are in the mix with the Vail Mountaineers Hockey Club seeded fourth in the Peewee A division and the VMHC Peewee B division team seeded first.
“This tournament is a great effort between Western Eagle County Metropolitan Recreation District, the town of Eagle and some dedicated parent volunteers,” said Eagle Marketing and Events Coordinator Amy Cassidy. Cassidy noted that attracting youth sporting events is an initiative of the Eagle Marketing and Events Committee during 2015 and this weekend’s hockey play is a great example.
“When these hockey families come to Eagle, we really do try to make them feel welcome,” she said.
