Crews successfully placed Eagle’s new pedestrian bridge over Interstate 70 last week.

The sections over the eastbound on ramp and both lanes of I-70 were placed during the late night/early morning hours of Sept. 10 and 11 and the section over the eastbound off ramp was placed during the late night/early morning hours of Sept. 11 and 12. I-70 was closed between Wolcott and Eagle while the bridge was placed.

Eagle Town Engineer Tom Gosiorowski said he has already received numerous compliments on the new bridge.

“We plan to have the bridge open for pedestrians and bicyclists to use by Oct. 5,” he said.

The town of Eagle will host an official bridge opening event in October.
