Primary election reminders from Eagle County

With Colorado’s primary just a few weeks away, the Eagle County Clerk’s office is reminding citizens of key dates for the upcoming election.

All voters wishing to vote in the primary election must register and declare a party affiliation. This is a mail ballot election; ballots will be sent between June 4 and June 6 for the June 24 election.

Friday, May 23: Last day for registered, affiliated voters to change party affiliation.

Friday, June 6: Voter Service and Polling Centers open at Eagle County Clerk’s Offices in Avon, Eagle and El Jebel. Centers will be open during business hours through June 24, as well as on Saturday, June 21 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Monday, June 16: Final day that ballots can be mailed. Those registering to vote after this date must obtain a ballot in person.

Tuesday, June 24: Primary Election Day. All ballots must be received by 7 p.m.

Unregistered voters may register up to and including Election Day. Register online at or at a Voter Service and Polling Center. Also, all registered, unaffiliated voters may register for a particular party at any time up until Election Day.

Eagle County voters are reminded to confirm their registration and ensure their mailing and physical addresses are correct at By law, ballots cannot be forwarded. Once voters receive ballots, they have the choice to mail in the completed ballot or drop it off at a Voter Service and Polling Center, located at clerk’s offices in Avon, Eagle and El Jebel.
