Rocky Mountain Horse Rendezvous planned this weekend in Eagle

Celebration of all things equine at the Eagle County Fairgrounds

Enterprise staff report

You can’t meet too many people in the Colorado high country before you come across an equine enthusiast.

Maybe its a hold-over from the days of the wild West or maybe horses are just an integral part of wide open landscapes, but whatever the reason, there are a bunch of local folks who love horses and this weekend is their opportunity to indulge that passion.

The Rocky Mountain Horse Rendezvous is planned this Saturday and Sunday at the Eagle River Center at the Eagle County Fairgrounds. The family friendly event will include demonstrations and exhibitions to bring the community together around the issue of horses in need. The new event format will include a showcase of adopted and available rescue horses.

Saturday evening the action switches over to the dinner and dirt dance. Tickets are $25 in advance or $30 at the door and the evening will include a cowboy auction, live band, horses for adoption along with the dinner and dance.
