This week’s happenings

Michael Clarke paints the First Lutheran Church on Eagle Street in Gypsum Monday morning. Clarke said it's been a long time since parts of the 125-year-old building received the detailed attention he's putting into it. "I've been learning things about it's history," said the contractor. "There's a cross in the back that is the original one from when the church started. A lady also told me the cross on top of the building was last repainted 25 years ago." Clarke said the project has made him feel closer to the community. "I want this work to last another 125 years," he said.
