Time to renew your dog’s license

Eagle County Animal Services is reminding local residents to renew their pet licenses for 2014.

All dogs that reside in Eagle County for two weeks or more during the year are required to be licensed for each calendar year. Pet licenses ensure all dogs are current on their rabies vaccination, and assists animal services in reuniting lost pets with their owners.

During the month of January, all licenses are discounted 50 percent and are $5 for dogs that are spayed or neutered and $10 for dogs that are not spayed or neutered. Beginning Feb. 1, license fees go up to $10 and $20 respectively. Cat licensing is not required in Eagle County, but cat licenses are available for $5 for added pet protection.

Proof of current rabies vaccination and a completed application are required for licensing. Licenses can be obtained at the following locations:

Eagle County Animal Shelter, located at 1400 Fairgrounds Rd. in Eagle.

Eagle County Clerk and Recorder’s Office, located at 500 Broadway in Eagle.

Eagle County Clerk and Recorders Office in the El Jebel Annex, located at 0020 Eagle County Dr. in El Jebel.
