Vote for Paul Witt
In case we don’t know each other, I’d like to introduce myself. My name is Paul Witt, and I’m running for the Eagle Town Board.
I’ve lived in Eagle County since 1992 and in the town of Eagle since 1997. My wife, Mary, and I have raised our three sons here – Benjamin, David and Sebastian. We’ve also raised two other “children” in Eagle – my own communications business since 2000, and Mary’s physical therapy clinic since 2012.
Since moving here in 1997, I’ve watched Eagle go through many changes. I’m proud of helping guide our community through some of those changes during my initial term as a town board member including:
Tax-sharing agreement with Gypsum
Renovation of the Eagle Town Park
Redesign and beautification of Broadway
Implementation of Eagle’s affordable housing requirements
Initial expansion of the water treatment plant
Dedication of the Eagle Ranch dog park
Replacing antiquated sewer systems in the Hilltop neighborhood
In addition to previously serving on the Eagle Town Board, I’ve been inspired by my neighbors and friends in Eagle to be involved in the community in many other ways. I currently sit on the Eagle Chamber of Commerce Business Development Committee, am a board member of the Vail Valley Charitable Fund, and Mary and I are coordinating this year’s Relay for Life in Eagle County. I’ve coached soccer, football, and baseball teams; helped build the wooden playground at Brush Creek Park; served on the Terrace Homeowners Association board; and participated in numerous community events.
There are many exciting things coming up for our town, from Highway 6 redevelopment, West Eagle improvements, more bike paths and recreational amenities; to more mundane projects such as the Lower Basin Water Treatment Plant, street maintenance and funding issues. We must continue to support our existing economic base and look for reasonable, thoughtful and sustainable ways to expand it. We need to ensure that we can accommodate projected population growth. Our town’s infrastructure will need to be maintained and upgraded to be able to provide the services we expect. And we must accomplish this while protecting our most important asset – the sense of community we all feel in calling Eagle home.
I want to be a part of these projects and more, and to help to ensure that Eagle remains the place where we all want to live and raise our families.
I would be happy to answer any questions or discuss any issues with you. You can email me at firstname.lastname@example.org and I’ll respond. Thank you for your time and support.
