Wedding ring lost on Vail Mountain reunited with owner
Dave lost his wedding ring five years ago atop Vail Mountain, but he didn’t lose Sue.
Yesterday, Dave and his wedding ring were back together, with Sue.
“We’re so excited to announce that we found the owner of the missing wedding ring,” Vail Resorts said Wednesday in a statement.
David and Sue, whose last names weren’t released, were married 32 years ago. Five years ago, David lost his wedding ring near the top of Vail Mountain under the Sourdough Lift.

MAINTENANCE WORKER SPOTS RING ON VAIL MOUNTAIN
A Vail Resorts lift maintenance worker was walking this summer under the Sourdough Lift and spotted it on the ground. The maintenance worker turned it in, and the story started making the rounds in the media.
In just a few days, more than 1 million people saw the story, as well as the ski company’s social media post.
It appeared to be a man’s ring, so that narrowed the field. And there’s an inscription inside that reads “All my love, Sue.”
There’s also a date inscribed inside the ring, but the ski company didn’t say what it is. That’s the data they were using to determine if the right person was trying to claim it.
“We had a few incorrect guesses,” said Liz Biebl, communications director for Vail Mountain.
Finally, David and Sue identified it.
“Thanks to the million people who saw our previous post, David and his ring have been reunited!” Vail Resorts said.
