Thanksgiving break
Local school kids are home for a weeklong break from school.
Eagle County Schools scheduled a week off for students and teachers. Classes will resume Monday, Dec. 1.

Local ski resorts enjoyed more snow over the weekend and Vail Mountain opened with more than 500 acres of terrain and access from Vail Village and Lionshead.
Breakfast burritos and hot cocoa were provided at both bases in celebration of the new season. Paid parking in Vail also began over the weekend.
Robbery sentencing
Rodrigo Ivan Aguilar, 18, was sentenced to six years for robbing El Jebel Liquors a year ago.
The teen robbed the store wth a gun and a butcher knife. He fled with $400 in cash and it was all caught on video.
Glenwood bridge hearing
In Glenwood, a formal public hearing regarding plans for the new Grand Avenue Bridge drew repeated calls for a broader Highway 82 bypass study and more time to comment on the current bridge replacement plan before any decisions are made.
Fed Ex impacts
The city of Glenwood Springs and FedEx officials will be given until Dec. 15 to reach a new deal to pay for road impacts or find other solutions associated with the company’s planned new package distribution facility in south Glenwood.
