Defiance Challenge

How many laps can you ski in 10 hours?

Sunlight Ski Resort is hosting the Defiance Challenge on Friday, March 7 beginning at 8 a.m. The lifts stop at 5 p.m. This is a true test of skiing legs and a fish fry follows the event.

On Saturday and Sunday, March 8 and 9, Sunlight is hosting the Buddy Werner Western Slope Council Cup which is a SkillsQuest on Saturday and an Open GS on Sunday.

Vaudeville Revue

The curtain rises for the Glenwood Vaudeville Revue at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, March 7 and 8.

The Revue is a two-hour family fun show with professional talent performing a variety of skits, jokes, high energy dance numbers, unique novelty songs and original ideas that are guaranteed to draw laughs. Admission ranges from $16 to $24.

Jazz Jam

Monday Night Jazz Jam Session is planned at the Hotel Colorado on March 10 starting at 7 p.m.

This open jam session is free and for musicians of all levels looking to improvise over jazz standards in public. Spectators are welcome and encouraged.

Ski for the Cure

Ski for the Cure at Snowmass, benefiting Susan G Komen Colorado, will take place on Saturday, March 8 beginning at 7 a.m.

Enjoy a day on the slopes decked out in pink to honor, remember and celebrate those who are fighting or have fought breast cancer. Participants will be identified with pink arm bands, and receive discounts at participating Aspen Ski Company mountain restaurants and tickets for giveaways. If they would like to join a fun racing competition at the NASTAR course, discounted runs will be offered.

After a day on the mountain, participants will attend an Après-Ski party where locals, survivors, skiers and friends will celebrate through the afternoon. Awards will be presented to top fundraising teams and individuals as well as the fastest NASTAR skiers and best pink ensembles.

Registration is open until Friday, March 7. Tickets start at $45 for adults and $25 for youth (17 and under) and include a voucher for discounted lift ticket, admission to the Apres- Party, one ticket for giveaways, and a free Ski-Z from SkiJunk.
