World Class Sheep Dog Competition

Participate in The Longevity Project

The Longevity Project is an annual campaign to help educate readers about what it takes to live a long, fulfilling life in our valley. This year Kevin shares his story of hope and celebration of life with his presentation Cracked, Not Broken as we explore the critical and relevant topic of mental health.



The World Class Sheep Dog Competition happens in Meeker beginning Wednesday, Sept. 3.

See 145 of the world’s best sheep dogs compete in herding contests featuring tough Meeker sheep.

The event runs through Sunday, Sept. 7. Action begins on the first day at 9 a.m.

Mixed media exhibit

Also on Wednesday, Sept. 3, the Rocky Mountain Collage Society is exhibiting members’ mixed media collage work at the Art Center in Grand Junction.

The artwork will be displayed from Sept. 3-29. The show will be judged by national, award-winning collage artist and teacher Elizabeth St. Hilaire Nelson, who will also be conducting a two-day collage workshop at The Art Center in Grand Junction, entitled “Paper Paintings” on Sept. 6 and 7.

The mission of RMCS is to encourage the use and understanding of collage as a fine art form and to provide education about collage as a fine art form. The organization is affiliated with the National Collage Society. RMCS has over 30 members and plans to expand the membership with satellite collage groups throughout the state of Colorado and neighboring states.
