Wheels and Wings show comes to Eagle airport Sept. 6

Wheels & Wings — the most comprehensive auto, aircraft and motorcycle show in Western Colorado — is coming back to the Eagle County Regional Airport Saturday, Sept. 6.
Gates open at the Vail Valley Jet Center at 10 a.m. The show features an open expo of cars, aircraft, and motorcycles, plus, two aerobatics shows that are sure to amaze and entertain audiences of all ages. For 2014, the Featured Marque is the Porsche and the 50th Anniversary of the Ford Mustang will be celebrated.
“It’s hard to believe this will be the fifth year for this event,” said Doug Landin, chairman of the Vail Automotive Classic Board of Directors. “It all started with an idea and the local Cars & Coffee Club. Now, it has grown to include, not only awesome cars, but motorcycles, planes, helicopters, and exciting aerobatics. It’s just a great weekend full of machinery and entertainment here in the Vail Valley.”
Buck Roetman of Wild Horse Aviation and Gary Rower of Rower Airshows will bring their Pitts/Stearman formation act back to the Wheels & Wings Show this year for not just one, but two aerobatics shows. The first show is at 11 a.m., the second at 3 p.m.
There are still seats available at the VIP Tent and Viewing Area to watch Buck and Gary bring the two amazing aircraft together in a formation routine that will thrill audiences and amaze fellow pilots.
