Eagle: Volunteers need to clean trails
Vail, CO Colorado
EAGLE, Colorado” The town of Eagle and the Bureau of Land Management have set a volunteer Trails Maintenance Day on May 31, starting at 8 a.m.
The effort will target trails in the east Eagle area. Volunteers will be divided into work groups. Three or four hours of effort is requested. Tasks will include erosion prevention, removing trail obstacles, repairing vandalized gates and signs, and litter removal.
Participants are asked to meet at the parking lot at the park in the Bluffs subdivision (northeast corner of the soccer field, about one block west of the county road traversing Bellyache).
Take Interstate 70 to the Eagle exit, travel south on Eby Creek Road. Take the Second Street exit off the roundabout, and head up the hill. At the top of the hill, go east 0.4 miles to Mill Road, and turn right. The parking area is on the right.
Volunteers are reminded to bring weather-appropriate clothing, boots, shovels, gloves, water and a snack.
