Eastbound I-70 reopned at East Vail
VAIL ” Interstate 70 was open again at 10:30 a.m. after two jackknifed tractor-trailers closed the eastbound lanes shortly after 9 a.m. Thursday.
The crashes occurred at mile marker 189, just west of Vail Pass. The interstate was shut down eastbound at mile marker 180, at East Vail.
Blowing snow caused poor visibility along the I-70 corridor Thursday morning. A snow and blowing snow advisory from the National Weather Service was in effect until 6 p.m. today, with accumulations of 3 to 7 inches projected.
