Eby Creek Road work underway
EAGLE, Colorado ” Help is under way for victims of Eby Creek Road traffic jams in Eagle, Colorado.
The town of Eagle began work this week on a series of projects aimed at improving traffic flow along the community’s sole link to Interstate 70. Drivers will soon see the results, albeit after a bit of inconvenience.
Town engineer Tom Gosiorowski said one of the first improvements is widening the northbound right turn lane at the Chambers Ave. intersection. That work began Thursday night. The town planned to repave the turn lane yesterday and finish on Saturday.
The town will continue work on Eby Creek Road improvements over the next few weeks, but Gosiorowski said future work will cause drivers less inconvenience.
The town hopes to have left-turn lights installed at the intersection of Eby Creek Road and Chambers Avenue this fall. Currently, southbound traffic on Eby Creek Road has a left-turn signal, and the town plans to install turn lights for the other three directions. Installation of the lights should not impact traffic, he said.
The remaining improvements, which include curb and gutter construction and drainage work, will be completed next spring.
