Economic stimulus plan could hit home in Avon
Avon, CO Colorado
AVON, Colorado ” The economic stimulus package pending in Congress could directly contribute to a town of Avon, Colorado project that wasn’t expected to receive grant money until 2011.
If Congress passes the American Recovery and Investment Act of 2009, the town could receive $15 million to $20 million in grant funds to get the project going very soon, said Jennifer Strehler, director of the town’s public works department.
The project consists of costly public works and transportation improvements at the town’s Swift Gulch site, which is just north of Interstate 70 near the roundabout.
