Educational Breakfast & Beyond series kicks off Friday Vail
VAIL – Beginning this week, the Vail Vitality Center is excited to offer a variation on its popular Lunch & Learn wellness program. The new three-part educational series, called Breakfast & Beyond, is led by Vail Vitality Center Certified Ayurvedic Wellness Consultant Julia Clarke. Each session features a mindful eating breakfast followed by an interactive lecture on Ayurvedic philosophy and perspective as it relates to health and wellbeing. Breakfast & Beyond kicks off on Friday at the Vail Vitality Center with an introduction to Ayurveda, a 10,000-year old system of health and healing. The monthly series continues in January 2013. Breakfast & Beyond Schedule: Winter 2012-2013Friday, 8 to 9:15 a.m.”Introduction to Ayurveda”: The Science of Self-Care – Ayurveda, which translates as “knowledge of life,” dates back some 10,000 years and is a system of health and healing that recognizes three different constitutional properties known as Doshas that exist in all of life. Learn about the Doshas, how they uniquely manifest in the body and mind, and how they can be balanced for optimal health. Jan. 4, 8 to 9:15 a.m.”You Are What You Digest”: From an Ayurvedic perspective, nutrition and digestion are the keystones to individual wellbeing. In this engaging lecture, learn what to eat, when to eat and how to eat to reduce toxins and create an ideal daily routine for perfect health. Jan. 11, 8 to 9:15 a.m.”Energy, Sleep & Vitality”: Learn the Ayurvedic approach to mental and physical energy, and better understand how diet, meditation, sleep and exercise can reduce stress and increase vitality.Cost for each Breakfast & Beyond session is $40; pre-registration is required at least 24 hours prior to each session.
