Edwards cancer center director to lead regional group
Vail, CO Colorado
EDWARDS, Colorado ” Tracey Lynn Samdahl, executive director of the Shaw Regional Cancer Center, was recently elected president of the regional branch of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, a national organization that raises funds for breast cancer treatment and research.
Samdahl will oversee a group that has granted over $3 million to a variety of local breast cancer programs.
“It’s such an exciting thing to be involved with Komen for the Cure, which has played a critical role in every major advance in the fight against breast cancer,” Samdahl says. “They have transformed how the world talks about and treats this disease, and helped turn millions of breast cancer patients into breast cancer survivors.”
The organization’s two main fundraisers are The Aspen Race for the Cure on July 19 and the Aspen/Snowmass Ride for the Cure on Sept. 6. Race for the Cure raises $550,000 in grants for local programs last year while the ride is a $1 million fundraiser.
