Edwards man wanted for alleged assault

EDWARDS ” Police are searching for an Edwards man they say attacked a woman with a hammer and a knife late Saturday night.

Armando Solis-Sanchez, 47, is wanted for 2nd degree aggravated assault, felony menacing and violating a restraining order, said Eagle County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Shannon Cordingly.

Solis-Sanchez attacked the woman in the Lake Creek Village parking lot in Edwards at about midnight on Saturday, according to police. The woman was walking from her vehicle to her apartment when Solis-Sanchez forced her back into her car and started driving toward Steamboat Springs, police said. He told the woman he planned to keep her for several days, but would not kill her, according to police.

After driving for three hours, the woman was able to talk Solis-Sanchez into letting her go, police said. The woman reported the incident to police at 3:47 a.m. when she arrived back at her Edwards apartment, according to police.

Lakewood Police discovered Solis-Sanchez’s vehicle Sunday afternoon and police believe he may still be in the Denver area.

The woman was transported to Vail Valley Medical Center where she was treated an released.

Solis-Sanchez worked with the woman and was arrested in June for stalking her, police said.
