Edwards teen gets high-tech in Silicon Valley
Eric Gotthelf of Edwards recently enrolled in the National Youth Leadership Forum on Technology. Gotthelf will join 1,500 high school students from around the country for the forum in San Jose, Calif., in late July.
Throughout the 10-day forum, Gotthelf will work on group and independent projects led by industry insiders. He will also see product demonstrations and visit the campuses of Silicon Valley companies.
“In their young years, many bright individuals like Eric have already become a dynamic part of the industry Ð writing software, building systems networks, managing web hosting companies and developing the next generation of cutting-edge technology,” said Donna Snyder, executive director of the forum. “The National Youth Leadership Forum on Technology provides a virtual summit whereby tomorrow’s innovators build upon and add to their skills while also receiving inspiration and direction from current technology industry leaders.”
Dr. Craig Barrett of Intel Corporation and Dr. Vance D. Coffman, chief executive of Lockheed Martin Corporation, will be among the guest speakers at the forum.
Participants will visit a number of Silicon Valley’s technology companies, including: Cisco Systems, Inc., Hewlett Packard Labs; Oracle Corporation; Silicon Graphics, Inc.; The Tech Museum of Innovation and many others. In addition, San Jose State University, Santa Clara University, Stanford University, University of California Berkeley and University of California Santa Cruz provide an educational background to the forum.
