Edwards Thanksgiving supper open to the community
Vail, CO Colorado
EDWARDS, Colorado – The Salvation Army, Trinity Church and the Edwards Interfaith Chapel and Community Center are hosting a Thanksgiving supper open to the community at the Edwards chapel.
All of the traditional Thanksgiving menu items will be served in a casual buffet atmosphere.
“We must not lose sight of the meaning of Thanksgiving and that means giving back to our community which has been hit by the economic downturn,” says Tsu Wolin-Brown, director of The Salvation Army. “We would also like to invite volunteers who would like the opportunity to help others during this holiday.”
Guests do not need to call or reserve a spot, just show up between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day. Volunteers are asked to call ahead to the Salvation Army at 970-926-3704, or e-mail email@example.com, to volunteer for a shift. Two shifts are available from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Food for the supper is being generously donated by many area restaurants including Splendido, Blue Plate Bistro, Sandbar, Gashouse, Paddy’s, La Tour, Route 6 Cafe, Gourmet Cowboy and other local restaurants.
“We’re so thankful for their support,” said C.J. Tenner, president of the Eagle Valley Religious Foundation Board, publisher of The Vail Valley Dining Guide and owner of Ala Car. “I’m always so impressed with the amount of people willing to step up and help.
