Election season starting in Eagle, Gypsum

EAGLE COUNTY – Elections for Eagle and Gypsum are slated for April 4.In Eagle, town board members Stephen Richards, Mike Kerst, and Paul Witt must run for re-election. Both Richards and Kerst have said they will run again. Town board members are elected to four-year terms.In Gypsum, there are four open seats and council members Pam Schultz, Dick Mayne, Tim McMichael and Mayor Steve Carver have all said they will run for re-election. Candidates in both towns must be 18 or older, and must have lived in the town for a year prior to the election. To run for the Eagle town board, candidates must get signatures from 10 residents. Candidates can get petitions from the town clerk today and begin collecting signatures. Gypsum candidates need 20 signatures to enter the race. Residents must register to vote by March 6.
