Vail Daily staff report
Vail, CO Colorado

VAIL, Colorado – Electronic duo Big Gigantic plays at Vail’s Samana Lounge Thursday night.

Over the last few months, Boulder-based Big Gigantic – the latest project from Dominic Lalli (Motet saxophonist/producer) and drummer Jeremy Salken – has gone from playing club gigs around Colorado to touring nationally. They have supported the Disco Biscuits in New York City at The Nokia Theater and STS9 at the Wells Fargo Theater. Additionally, Lalli recently made a guest appearance with STS9, sitting in with them on three songs over their late December dates.

“Big Gigantic put on the most energetic and explosive performance of the year,” says Scott Stoughton of Samana Lounge. “There are a lot of electronic acts out there right now because the genre is so hot, but Big Gigantic brings that organic feeling with the smooth funky sax and live drums which brings them to another level. Live music fans and electronic music fans unite on this project.”

Big Gigantic mixes a DJ with a live band – including saxophone solos – to create its dances tunes. The newest release, “Wide Awake,” along with their debut, “Fire It Up” are available for free download at http://www.biggigantic.net.

Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 today. For more information, visit http://www.samanalounge.com or call 970-476-3433.
