Electronics recyling event comes to Vail Friday

Daily staff report
Vail, CO Colorado

VAIL, Colorado – The town of Vail and the Eagle Valley Alliance for Sustainability are hosting their annual electronics recycling event in Vail on Friday.

“Get the Lead Out” will take place from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the town of Vail recycling center located behind the Community Development Department offices at 75 S. Frontage Road.

The electronics recycling is provided by Electronic Recyclers International of Denver. The company disassembles the electronics into its core components with a goal of 100 percent recycling. The company ensures data security by physically destroying the hard drive and will provide a certificate guaranteeing the destruction of the disk. This service is $5 per computer or small printer; $10 for monitors (up to 17″) and larger printers; very large items may cost more; there is no charge to recycle keyboards and other accessories with a computer. To learn more about the process and ERI visit http://www.electronicrecyclers.com.

A paper shredding collection event will be held in July at the Recycling Center.
