Empty house, big party in Eagle
Eagle, CO Colorado
EAGLE, Colorado –Eagle police were called to a vacant home last week when the caretaker reported a party had obviously taken place at the residence.
According to the Eagle Police report, officers found a broken window, empty beer bottles and plastic cups and a purple stain on the living room carpet when they arrived. There was no damage in the bedrooms or bathrooms.
The caretaker said the home had been vacant for a couple of weeks, but a new tenant was in the process of moving in. When contacted the tenant looked over his belongings, stored in the garage. He said none of his items were missing or damaged. He told police the party remnants had not been there prior to the weekend.
Officers contacted neighbors, who observed a party during the weekend. The neighbors said they suspected the party’s host was a teen who formerly lived at the residence.
Police contacted the former tenants. The father said his son could not have been the culprit because he was grounded at home when the party allegedly occurred. Officers asked if the youth could have slipped out of his home and the father said no, because that behavior is what had gotten him grounded in the first place.
The incident remains under investigation.
