With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, it’s time to start collecting entries for the Vail Daily’s annual “Tell Us Your Love Story” contest. This essay competition has been going on for over 20 years and can draw even the shyest folks out to share how they met their sweetheart.
Feeling unlucky in love? Read on. The amazing ways people have come together inspire the most doubtful singleton. From meeting when you were 10 years old while singing Christmas carols and getting married decades later, to realizing you’d met “the one” in the back of a cop car or finding your special someone on the Winter Park Ski Train, these strange circumstances have some magical way of bringing people together. Some of our past contest winners met on a stalled chairlift while others met in high school, but however your love connection happened, we want to hear about it and reward you with great prizes. A huge thank you goes out to our great sponsors for providing a fun date for you and your sweetie. Prizes include:
- The Spa at Four Seasons Resort and Residences Vail – Relax during a 50-minute couples massage with a glass of prosecco upon arrival and access to indoor sauna, steam room, cold plunge and facilities before and after the treatment
- Sage Outdoor Adventures – Enjoy a two-hour snowmobile trip for two on the vast, private mountain where Sage Outdoor Adventures operates and take advantage of this winter playground.
- Vista at Arrowhead – make a reservation and use the $250 gift card for a dinner out with your date
Please email your entries to Tricia Swenson (tswenson@vaildaily.com) and Sean Naylor (snaylor@vaildaily.com). Contest rules call for entries that are 400 words or less, plus one photo of the two of you that we can print and your phone number so we can call you if you won. The deadline is Monday, Feb. 10 at 5 p.m. and the top stories will be run in the paper on Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14 and honorable mentions will be listed on VailDaily.com.
