Entrepreneur Fitness Center course offered in Vail Valley

VAIL VALLEY – In today’s economy, many in Colorado’s Vail Valley have come to the unfortunate conclusion that jobs are not as secure as once hoped. Issues and questions arise, such as “I’d really like to start my own business but don’t know where to begin,” or “In this economy, how can I make my business be more successful?”

This is why Colorado Mountain College began offering The Entrepreneur Fitness Center this time last year. This 11-week course is presented by Customized Business Services at Colorado Mountain College in Edwards. The course will be offered again, starting in January, on Wednesday evenings from 5:45 p.m. to 8:45 p.m.

Course instructor Patrick Baldasare has built several businesses. Course speakers include ex-Fortune 500 CEOs and entrepreneurs with experience in successfully running and selling big businesses, as well as entrepreneurs who have succeeded in the Vail Valley.

During the course, students will work through all aspects of writing a business plan, from crafting a vision statement to defining and sizing target market(s), building the sales and marketing plan, drafting financial forecasts and understanding legal requirements. By the end of the course students should have a well-written and documented business plan used to either start a business or jump-start an existing business.

“There are fundamental building blocks that are required for any business, no matter how small or large,” Baldasare says. “Ignore any one of them and the potential for disaster is enormous.”
