Episcopal Church shares Christmas spirit in Edwards
EDWARDS — The Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration extended an open invitation to come join them in celebrating the season with a supper at the Edwards Interfaith Chapel and Community Center on Wednesday evening. The Chapel was full and extra tables had to be rolled in to accommodate the gathering for “Adoring Hymns and Singing Angels,” a special evening of music, merriment, festive foods and delightful desserts and, of course, reflection.
An Angelic Performance
There was an angelic performance by Episcopal Church Children’s Choir members and a special concert by the Dickens Carolers. Dr. Randy Simmonds conducted the Carolers and had the crowd singing along. Afterwards, he invited everyone to the Carolers’ other performances. The Carolers schedule also includes appearances in establishments and on the streets of Vail through Tuesday.
A highlight of the evening was a teaching from the Archangel Gabriel (aka Pastor Mark Huggenvik, of the Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration), who presented an inspirational message. Gratitude was extended to the team of volunteers that helped decorate the Chapel and organize the supper. The evening would not have been possible without the many volunteers and families from several congregations, in keeping with the spirit of the season.
In wake of deadly Vail Valley avalanche, tributes to Dillon Block and Cesar Almanza-Hernandez pour in
It has been a decade since Almanza-Hernandez graduated from Eagle Valley High School, and almost that long for Block. But inevitably, when a native son passes unexpectedly and tragically, folks tend to remember times spent together during their high school days.
