Since 2014, Trio Therapy Partners has been using horses to help heal children and adults who are living with a variety of ailments. This weekend the nonprofit based in Eagle is hosting its annual Mountain Hoedown at 4 Eagle Ranch.
Funds raised will help grow the programs and services Trio Therapy Partners provides, such as occupational therapy, physical therapy, mental health counseling and other equine-assisted learning to help people overcome physical, cognitive and social-emotional challenges in Eagle County.
When Amanda Moody, Lauren Cremonese and Kristi Moon founded Trio Therapy Partners in 2014, they helped eight clients that summer. Now, the need and demand for services have grown immensely.
“Currently, we offer 600 appointments over the course of the year that are broken up into six 11-week sessions. We are serving over 35 individuals during a span of two-and-a-half days between our group and individual appointments,” Cremonese said. “We continue to have a wait list for all of our services.”
“When my daughter started with Trio, her anxiety affected every facet of our family’s daily existence. Within weeks of starting therapy, she was a different, happier child,” said Catherine Hayes, the parent of a former Trio client. “The bond she formed with her therapist — and the horses — continues to this day. We could not have hoped for a better outcome.”
